I have been introduced to the World of the Five Gods by someone else, and I find the characters in it both very fun to work with and all competent to a T.

Regarding Penric: Whether with Nikys, Des, or Alixtra, Pen always seems to be the kind of person who would be the very most happy doing instruction, working on his books, or getting to spend time with the beautiful woman that he managed to win over through service to her family. And then things happen and he has to go out and deal with things in the world itself. (He makes the best of it, of course, and always finds something fascinating.) So what would it be like if something happened with Pen, and instead of having to journey to the farther reaches of wherever he is going to, he actually gets to do the things he likes doing? Teaching on the working with demons, showing Alixttra how to do her own bit of print plate etching, actually making progress on Volume II, or even just a happy day at home with his household. (Okay, happy might mean having to heal some scrapes or deal with some small marauders, but I think both he and Nikys can figure out how to do that.

Regarding Ista and Annaliss: After their respective adventures, there's a clear implication that there's so much more to do than just retire back to being Lady Ista and her lady-in-waiting, so that probably means that Illvin and Foix get dragged along for the adventure. Sainthood would be the easiest way to get them moving, but whatever is wotthwhile is excellent. Mostly I like seeing the "Sweet Ista, Cranky Ista" dynamic play out, and possibly the ways that having Saint Ista nearby helps keep Sorcerer Foix in line and learn how to work properly with his demon. Other characters are welcome to appear, including Gods With Opinions, but if possible, I should like to see or hear more of what goes on when Ista continues on her "pilgrimages," and what kinds of scrapes and situations they run into that need the attention of a Saint, a sorcerer, a fighter, and Liss.

Many possible pathways for this option:

Regarding Mirrim: I have always believed that Mirrim is a narrative punching bag, and that she deserves a much better treatment than what she gets. She can be abrasive, she can be rude, she can be all the kinds of things that she absolutely is to be a green rider in the world of Pern, but I expect others to have at least a grudging respect for her, because of Path. (Path is always supportive of her rider.) I also see Mirrim as taking on the role of candidate advisor with relish, since she gets to impart wisdom to people who need to hear it and take no shit from the boys that believe they'll be dragonriders one day.

Her and Menolly, as the two women in the world who are strong enough and talented enough to challenge the order, could either be a spark-flying pair or a pair that enjoy the moments of intimacy they can share with each other (or both.)

Regarding Menolly: She's much smarter than anyone, save maybe Robinton, really wants to give credit for, so she wants to have someone who can respect her brilliance (Mirrim) or who she can be her unbound self in front of without the fear of being put down for it (Robinton). And she loves her fair, and likes to keep track of them, but I can see her also being called in as an expert on fire-lizards when that's needed to help the fire-lizards do something or not do something or to interpret what they're trying to tell the silly humans. They'll believe her and her brilliance.

I love the Snake Fight Universe, and I also love that this particular universe tends to generate things that are artifacts of communications about the process, and how it might coincide with academic advising and other such things, so if you want to go in that direction for this, please do. Or an advisor facepalming as their student ends up dealing with a bigger snake than they were expecting, or a worse one. Or that advisor giving a big WTF to their colleagues about the snake presented, and asking who decided they needed to be Reviewer 2 about it.

Or possibly, part of a worked-over thesis with commentary and pointed remarks from the advisor, or perhaps a shorthand of what kinds of snakes would be showing up if this were submitted in this form as a way of trying to get teh student to do corrections. The things that people come up with for this universe are really good, and so I want you to enjoy writing it. It makes the good stuff.

Tortall is a place full of smart people doing smart things. Or at least trying to keep the royals from doing less smart things, and I like the way that it engenders frank relationships between people who are doing their best to keep each other alive.

Regarding Kel: Kel so very much seems like the kind of person who has good relationships with any of the people in her world that choose to respect and acknowledge her as competent and capable. She'll snark with Dom, Raoul, and Buri, she'll try to keep Lalasa from reverting back to the lady-and-maid relationship, and she'll try hard to give Tobe the same kind of respect she demands for herself, so long as he keeps choosing not to use that latitude and trust to get himself into trouble.

Regarding Alanna: Once she's come into her own, Alanna seems more than content to let everyone around her know what she thinks about them, in very blunt terms. Raoul can absorb it or deflect it away from her, and Neal seems to want to give as good as he gets, so either of those ways would go over well. Not in the patronizing way, but in the "Here comes Alanna the Thunderstorm" way and they do their best to acknowledge when she's right and gently redirect her when she's storming. (And Alanna does the same for them.)

Regarding Raoul: He seems to be the kind of man that nothing can really surprise, based on the breadth of his experience and the likelihood that a lot of people want to make a name for themselves by defeating him, and none of them have really managed to make a dent in the armor. He respects Kel and Alanna both for the people they are and doesn't try to make them into something else. This extends to Buri as well, I suspect, and their shared dislike of formal events where they get paraded around and are expected to make small talk with people who dislike them feels like the other major catalyst that propelled them into bed together, and into the relationship they have. They're most likely a terror to everyone else around them, but very affectionate and sweet with each other.

These are possibilities, so write the thing you like writing!

RWBY does a good job with the relationships that it shows, in their accuracy, and in not condoning the ones that are not healthy or acceptable.

Regarding Blake: She's extremely sweet, even as she's still shy and growing into her confidence. It took acts of courage for her all throughout their life to get to where she is. She's received a lot of support from her teammates and from other people, and this means that sometimes she can be strong-opinioned with them. Or with others, and that might endear her more to those people that want Blake as a partner. Yang's confidence and Ilia's convictions both appeal to her, and she wants to keep people close to herself, but outside of the reach of her past.

Regarding Ruby: Ruby is supposed to be our innocent in this series, but like most innocents, I think she knows more than she's allowed to let on. Like, she's kind of being kept as both the leader, and as the person that people don't discuss the dirty tricks and tactics with, unless she absolutely has to know. It probably puts more pressure on Ruby than she wants, because she recognizes this role, and wants to be the person her team needs, but she also wants to be herself, too. Penny and Oscar both are the people who match Ruby's perceived innocence, but both of them are also imbued with the experiences of another person in them, whether it's through their Aura or by having Ozpin in them, and so I think there's a lot of possibility for them to have strong relationships with each other about expectations, and about what other people think about them.

Regarding Jaune: He's a leader, a tactician, and he tries hard. He's not as cynical as he's supposed to be in this world, and he's not as experienced as he's supposed to be in this world, but he collected a team that can not only cover for him, they can help him recalibrate to what the team needs from their leader, and to help them develop into more complete people and use their talents to their fullest abilities. He wants them as a family, rather than to be their mascot, and the team can help him with this. They can help him feel less like a mascot, especially Pyrrha, who has all the things he wants and still seems interested in him all the same.

These are nice suggestions, go and do what you are going to enjoy!

All of these revolve around Fran, who is the most interesting character in the playable group in the game. I like her so much, and I think that she will appeal to Balthier and Penelo in different ways - to Balthier, she's a long-time companion, someone who keeps him from flying too far away, or believing himself too much, aand who is a treasure that he wants to keep nearby and keep her happy.

To Penelo, Fran might represent mystery and beauty and being tall and glamorous, and desperately wanting all of those things, to which Fran can show her the parts that are less glamorous about it, or provide her with one or more situations where being herself has been a problem instead of a benefit, and she will treasure Penelo's perspective on things, since she's also Hume, but also a woman, and therefore much less prone to certain foolishness as Balthier is.

They all three would make a good trio as well, so if that's how your work goes, excellent. I think there's so much in those three and how their personalities are that you can just put them in the same room and let them work, and you'll get something wonderful from them.

The Insurance Ladies are one of the best parts of this Trigun, since they're both dedicated to doing their job, whether with a sunny disposition and stun weaponry, or with hard-nosed grit, stubbornness, and single-shot weaponry hidden everywhere. It makes them seem like comic relief when they're going up against Vash the Stampede, the Humanoid Typhoon, but they're probably extremely competent women who just get outclassed by the plant.

I think Millie and Meryl would get along swimmingly with each other, even if it might take Meryl longer to admit it than Millie would, and they're both very compatible with Vash, mirroring both his sunny side and his brooding side, so they could fall together into a triad of some sort, each of them providing something useful to the others, and to themselves, by being themselves around each other. Hijinks and strange things happening around them, including Gung-Ho guns or others who want to be them, would also be fine, since a lot of the comedy in Trigun comes from these kinds of conversations happening while bullets are flying around them.

I like Pilot, and think he's the best character in all of Farscape, so both of my prompts here involve Pilot, and how he might communicate and have a relationship with the ship he bonded himself to, and what she thinks about all of this, and how she shows him what her opinions of everything are, DRDs or no.

It also seems like other characters use Pilot as a source of wisdom, not just from Moya, but from his long-lived experiences as well, and as the observer of things that others may miss or don't pay attention to while they're acting on things. So I can see Aeryn consulting with him about the things in her life, including Crichton, but also about having been a Peacekeeper, and the things that are going on with the Peacekeepers. The two of them seem to have a good working relationship with each other, and a friendship, so Pilot might also be teaching Aeryn a little bit about managing her emotions and how to deal with them as well.

Regarding Hardison & Abby: two computer geeks geeking out, as the work they do is also pretty cvool and helps make people's lives happier. Although I can see Abby trolling Hardison with her unabashed Goth-ness, in the same way that McGee would get teased about sleeping in a coffin or otherwise.

Regarding Ariel and Katara: Two women with an intimate relationship to water, and the love they both have for water and the people who work with it. Whether that's Ariel helping Katara breathe under the sea, or Katara bending a water bubble so that Ariel can take part more on land, the two of them can help satisfy each other's curiosity.

Regarding Beatrice & Wirt and Sarah Williams or Greg and Ludo: The Over the Garden Wall folks and the Labyrinth folks had similar experiences, and when it comes to Beatrice and Wirt and Sarah, they can talk about having gone in to rescue people and having met many frightening things along the way and learned plenty about themselves while they were doing so, and the dangers of succumbing to the feelings that are always right there, or being worried about betrayal. For Greg and Ludo, they might talk about being the tagalong, or the person who's there for a single purpose and then who fades out of the spotlight again. Or being able to talk to things that aren't human and get some useful information out of them.

Regarding Seven and either Data or Guinan: One of the things that Seven is struggling to work with once she's disconnected from the Borg is the question of what it means to be human. This is something Data is remarkably familiar with, and who can describe, in precise detail, all of his efforts to become more human and less like an android, and their failures and difficulties, and other such things. Guinan, of course, has been listening for a very long time and coudl say quite a lot about what makes a species sentient, or human, or worthwhile in the universe. No drinks needed, but it might be interesting if they were all doing so.

Regarding Eliot: Pairing him up with people who can fight just as effectively as he can (and without necessarily needing to follow any formal rules or ideas that might hamper them) and who have experience dsome pretty weird shit of their own seems like the right kind of people to have frank conversations with in between thumping bad guys. They might connect kinetically before they connect emotionally, but it'll be fun for them to watch it happen and to finally be able to feel whats going on with someone else.

Regarding Aravis and Neal: We know that Neal's a sucker for outspoken women who aren't afraid of .letting him and everyone else know what kind of fools they're being, so I suspect his time with Aravis would go about the same way as it did with Yuki - being entranced by her beauty, finding out she's also got a sharp tongue to go with it, and being completely smitten with her as he tries to keep up.
