I absolutely adore Adam/Olive, do not want them broken up (unless temporarily, for angst) and would be over the moon to receive shipfic focused on them! I’m also equally excited for fic where their relationship takes the backseat to a focus on Adam’s awkward relationships with either or both of Olive’s best friends.
Some prompts:
- Little snapshots of Olive’s life through Adam’s eyes, back before The Night when he was pining for her from afar. I’d like to see all the beautiful things he sees in her and all the emotionally stunted reasons he can’t possibly approach.
- Cute little moments as they figure out how to Real Date each other.
- Adam and Olive collaborate on a research project. I’d love to see them figuring out how to manage the power imbalance stemming from different levels of experience so they can work together as genuine academic equals.

- I’d love to see more of Adam’s day-to-day life in academia. I genuinely love nitty-gritty details, okay? Give me all the dreary stuff: the faculty meetings, the unwanted social committee obligations, the undergrad wrangling, the hours and hours and hours in the lab. I’d love to see the parts of his work that make him feel alive, but I’d also love to see the parts that had him right on the brink of giving it all up for a while there. The long hours. The burnout. The frustration. The mind-numbing boredom. His dry, caustic, slightly antisocial humour through it all.
- What does Olive and Adam’s relationship look like once the honeymoon period wears off? I’d love to see them transition from the giddy world of get-together tropes to the much less glamorous work of maintaining a solid partnership through all the frictions of day-to-day life, and in the process getting to know each other in all the mundane, flawed, painfully intimate detail that inevitably follows once the idealisation phase wears off.

The whole character of Alaric is basically pure, unadulterated id fodder for me. The tortured backstory, including literal systematic torture by his father! The loneliness! The touch starvation, kindness starvation, the dogged sense of duty and loyalty that persists no matter how he’s treated. I love his sweet tooth and his moments of boyishness. I love the intensity of his attraction to Talasyn, his empathy towards her own past traumas and his shame and self-loathing as he pines for her, believing that his soul-deep yearning is unrequited.
There are exactly two things my heart dearly wants:
1) Whump this poor beautiful man! Whump him so hard! I want more brutally abusive Gaheris. More Talasyn-will-never-love-me angst. More grief for his mother and fear for his nation’s future and exhaustion from the long, grinding war. I want to wallow in all the bad things canon has done to him and I want to see him suffer even worse things that will grind him down to his component atoms. He hurts so pretty.
2) Give this poor beautiful man a break! He has suffered so much and I want him to have all the nice things. More of him enjoying sugary treats and all the unfamiliar luxuries Nenavar has to offer. More of his relationship with Talasyn growing closer and more tender, more of him earning her respect, her trust, her love. More of her being his safe place. More of Sevraim making him smile against his will behind the mask.
Basically, if your work lands anywhere on the hurt/comfort spectrum – from all-hurt to all-comfort or anywhere in between – I’m going to be delighted.

What I’m craving most for this fandom is post-canon fic about Florence and Ben settling into their newly corporeal relationship. Or almost post-canon fic that fills in Ben’s POV (and his intense, painful pining) during those months after his hospital release but before they’ve both established that what happened between them was real.
A few more specific prompts:
- With Ben by her side, Florence learns to let go of the shadow of death and really live. Small moments of uncomplicated pleasure. Cosy bookshop dates. Making the most of her life in the city she loves without the shame of feeling like she’s running from her hometown.
- I’d love to see more of Florence and Ben being a high-powered literary couple. What’s next for Florence now that her ghostwriting contract is finished? Will she and Ben workshop ideas together? Does she in turn help Ben succeed in his new romance publishing niche?
- Ben comes to terms with his weird near-death experience, and with that vivid dream about one of his authors who he now somehow can’t get out of his head.
- Let’s have more about Ben’s new ghost-seeing powers. Do he and Florence start talking to the ghosts they meet around the city? Does a ghost approach him for help with some postmortem publishing woes?
- I enjoy petty comeuppance stories and would not at all object to seeing Lee’s career come apart. Maybe he gets outed as a plagiarist, Yellowface style? I’d prefer a focus on schadenfreude for Florence rather than her or Ben being instrumental in bringing Lee down.

Project Cassie Helps Frederick Adapt to the Modern World is underway! I’d love to see more of their lessons in modern life, more fish-out-of-water humour as Frederick attempts to fit in with Cassie’s friends, more swoonworthy Regency-esque moments as his old manners rear their head for her.
I also kind of wanted there to be more vampirism in this vampire book! I’d love to see details on how Cassie and Frederick make their undead/living romance work: more sex with light blood kink, more weird little daily accommodations for Frederick’s quirks, more active use of the unorthodox vampire lore that was introduced. And I’d love to see Cassie’s process as she weighs up the pros and cons of joining her boyfriend in his eternal unlife. My beloved modern toxic tragic yaoi with aliens and kaiju. Not a great Godzilla installment, but a fantastic successor to all those 90s BLs with sad boys being intense about each other and only being able to embrace in death.
Ideas
* Metphies character study focusing on his relationship and manipulation and fondness for Haruo, tragic ending included.
* The psychic neural network of the Exif: it's sort of implied that Metphies' consciousness exists in the network even after death, and Haruo trying and failing to adapt to a happy hunter-gatherer life as observed and commented on by Metphies' ghost could be interesting.
* Canon compliant missing scenes that explain why Haruo is so utterly devastated by Metphies' death.
* Something exploring or explaining the way the very first time we see them interact, Haruo just accepts that Metphies is waiting for him to wake up inside the jail cell with him as a natural thing, and the way he readily yields to Metphies manhandling him into position.
* That height difference. Haruo isn't exactly short, but Metphies looms without trying. (I swear the movies deliberately frame them a lot in a manner where Metphies looms over Haruo in a bit of visual foreshadowing)
* The other Exif, Endurph, being annoyed that Metphies keeps making these decisions without consulting him, the elder, like when Metphies revealed Gidorah's name to Haruo, and Metphies not giving a flying fuck. (And then cursing Metphies from the Exif's metaplane post-death if Metphies decides Haruo is more important than their faith and mission?)

I do love Bilbo/Thorin, but I've a soft spot for Smaug, and the movies made Bilbo/Thranduil very appealing. So here's my request for stuff exploring other ships for Bilbo (or OT3 configurations - I think Smaug would get a kick out of a resentful Thorin being dragged into a bargain with the Hobbit, and Thranduil would enjoy lording it over Thorin too).
I also loved Bilbo's bantering with Smaug. Smaug seemed to indulge Bilbo so long as he was kept amused and his appetite (for knowledge) kept sated, and, well, there are many ways to amuse and many appetites to feed. And hey, what better distraction from the dwarves than an unknown creature suddenly deciding to do a desperate striptease?
And there's magic, so maybe Smaug has a human-ish form he rarely bothers to use except for when he was young and enjoyed tricking people out of their gold and jewels. Maybe he started out as a deft pickpocket, maybe he got bored and ran a merc group for the carnage and gold, maybe he had fun as a catburglar for a while - I imagine Bilbo being a cherished pet and/or writing down the story of Smaug could be fun.
And as much as I love Bilbo/Smaug, throwing Thorin kicking and screaming into the mix would be delightful. Maybe Bilbo's already involved with Thorin by the time they get to the mountain, and Smaug decides to BOGO. Or Bilbo negotiates Thorin as the greatest living treasure for the dragon to save Thorin's life - Smaug is willing to let the dwarves survive and even move back in if he gets to keep the new King Under the Mountain as part of his treasure trove (with Bilbo as an entertaining bonus).
But then, Thranduil! Bilbo and Thranduil being both clever and cunning is so compelling to me, and the way Thranduil is willing to negotiate with Bilbo just hit a nice soft spot for me. Thranduil could use some gentle care and good-natured ribbing and nagging from Bilbo. Bilbo deserves to be recognized and respected for his role in resolving the Man-Elf-Dwarf relations.
Bilbo somehow being the glue that cements and binds Thranduil and Smaug in a triad would be explosive.
Also, the movie had Smaug give Thranduil a nasty face wound that won't heal. That could be fun to explore as Smaug thinking of it as some sort of mark of ownership, how he's indelibly changed Thranduil forever.

I still haven't finished reading the novels, but spoilers are fine. I loved the pre-noble arc and Benno and Lutz. I would've been content had canon stuck with that instead of the academy etc.
I love the Benno and Myne relationship to bits. He treats her by turns as a protégé, partner, and hapless sheep he has to herd into reality.
I loved the expansion of the plot into the temple and Ferdinand's perpetual headaches dealing with a woman from another world, and how Benno has to navigate the world of nobility as a common merchant on the rise.
I also love Lutz, he's such a smart kid, and he's such a good friend to Myne. Ferdinand figured out that Myne is not what she seems, but Lutz managed the same with far less experience and education. I also love his own relationship with Benno - they both take Lutz's apprenticeship seriously instead of treating him like Myne's plus-one.
Ideas/jumping points if you're looking for prompts:
* Just more Benno grousing or musing about Myne. Possibly to Mark, the long suffering assistant, possibly to Corinna and/or Otto.
* AU where Benno and Myne end up together and she never does the whole double adoption pipeline from noble to avatar. The joke of his 'Goddess of Water' becomes a strange reality once Myne gets older and Benno truly moves on from Liz. (Or, less healthily, Benno replaces Liz with Myne for some dubious, iffy psychological tension.)

I loved their dynamic in Try and Next. Lina knows Xelloss can't really be trusted because he's a mazoku and they're all trying to work toward ending the world, but he's useful and generally polite in the day to day, which suits her ego just fine.
Ideas/jumping point if you're looking for prompts:
* Faustian bargains are always a fun idea when demons are involved. She needs something, he wants her, be it a one time deal or ongoing exchange.
* Xelas ponders destroying the threat that is Lina Inverse. Xellos offers to remove the threat by making her his pet/property.
* Love and happiness are poison to a Mazoku (or that's just another lie or exaggeration - maybe they're toxic but like a seasonal hay fever allergy, not rattlesnake venom), but that doesn't stop Xellos from enjoying himself with Lina. Not when she brings enough chaos and misery to balance the scales.

* Xellos is singularly powerful for an underling, but generally prefers manipulation and playing along instead of fighting. He obeys set rules because life is more interesting when he has struggles to overcome. In a desperate attempt to save herself, Lina suggests a game, and he accepts. Whether he is forced into resort to cheating to win, or whether despite suggesting the game rules herself, Lina is losing, is up to you. (Variation: Xellos is persistent in trying to obtain dubious consent from Lina, and she uses luck - dice rolls - to win another day's freedom each time. Eventually she's going to roll a bad number. Xellos enjoys her growing anxiety.)

I love Greenaway's interest in erotics, baroque painting, and the formal yet playful way he weaves the progressing numbers into each scene. The autumnal, seaside, off-kilter logic of the film. The set design and cinematography. I particularly enjoy the various rituals and games in the film and the fond spiky relationship between the Cissies and Madgett (and Smut!). Every character is incredibly odd. Madgett and his son Smut are obsessed with games, numbers, and death; the Colpitts carry on with their murders with matter-of-fact inevitability. It's all a tragic game! I love the interplay of decay, life and death, nature, sexuality, fate, and blackmail throughout the story.

I love the lush set design and tragedy of the film, but most of all the push-and-pull between the enigmatic Lermontov and his protégées. Most of all I love Anton Walbrook's dastardly subtle performance and his slayful costuming. I'll always fall for tales of obsession, repulsion, horribly destructive mentorships, and the steep price of art. Powell and Pressburger's work contains such moviemaking magic--the ballet scene is one of the best dance sequences of any film! The shifting set and editing effects--it's so gorgeous. I love Lermontov's relationship with Vicky and the positive beginning that turns sour as things progress towards their tragic end.

- For all that he is a cruel monster, there's this wounded heart under Lermontov's icy distance and a genuine rapport with his artistic family. Grisha calls him Borya! Character study, wartime history, moments of him reaching out like attending Grisha's birthday or starting to write to Vicky, feeling the weakness of human nature in his fondness for Vicky. Does Lermontov dance or play music, could he allow himself? It's lonely at the top.
- It's clear Lermontov sees love as weakness that should be ignored in the pursuit of art, and has this very ascetic closed-off life in which nothing matters but his craft and where sexual/romantic connections are despised. I love the textural quality to this film, its Moroccan setting, the depth of feeling between its characters. I'd love to see more of the relationships and delicate balance between Halim's marriage to Mina, who knows him best, and his desire for Youssef. I also love how the object of the caftan and the labour of its creation is part of the labour of love.

- Alexia survives. Vincent with the baby. What is the baby? Vincent grandfather mode.
- I don't need an answer as to what happened to Adrien but it's interesting that in the picture we see of him, there's a gender subversion going on. Which is perhaps why Alexia fits so well in the role.
- The scene where Alexia holds Vincent. More taking care of Vincent while he's vulnerable, manipulating him, cuckoo in the nest scenario. Molest that old man.

I loved the analogue elements of the film, the entrapment and voyeurism, skewered gestures and moments, the roles played and the small slice of perspective gained through the intimacy and risk of cruising that then shifts dramatically the more Lucas learns about Andrew's life. There's a great bit in the series just before the Sunshot Campaign where NMJ tells both JC and WWX that he's heard good things about them from LXC and the boys are just so happy and proud about it. And I am not immune to the idea of Jiang Cheng having someone caring and older who recognizes that, hey, this kid is actually good at shit and extremely pretty. Maybe someone they could both drop their posturing around a little bit, too.
Speaking of mask-wearers, the Jiang Cheng-Nie Huaisang relationship is endlessly fascinating to me. From friends to fellow sect leaders to whatever the hell they are in the wake of canon. Jiang Cheng isn't a genius like WWX (or NHS) but he's not stupid, and he's definitely listening into those final accusations at Guanyin Temple. Where do they go from there? How did they get to that point, anyway?
Feel free to use stuff from Fatal Journey if you've seen it, but no worries if you haven't/don't like it. AU takes, canon-set and otherwise, are also welcome, though I prefer AUs with magic to mundane ones.
If you want to have a story with both NHS/JC and NMJ/JC, please do that, but I don't want any jealousy between NHS and NMJ. I like them being kind of weird about each other but in a supportive way, hah.

I just really like Sha Hualing, especially as I was re-reading, and I'd love to see her getting into some shenanigans with her weird gay pals or the #1 RPF writer in the cultivation world. She's sassy and sexy and not above cheating to get what she wants, and Liu Mingyan is more honorable and outwardly respectable and also...the #1 RPF writer. What are they up to while the rest of the plot is lumbering along?
I also love Mobei-jun and his abandonment issues and his gruff exterior and, like Airplane, I'm not immune to how big and buff and awesome he is. His relationship with SQH is such a mess and also so? weirdly? romantic? They both have impeccable survival instincts and can also be so very, very, clueless.
And Luo Binghe is both the overpowered protagonist who gets what he wants in the end and also a sad scared little guy who just wants to be loved. I'm always eager for non-Shen Yuan takes on him.
I just think they're all neat!
I'm happy to have more of the extended cast show up if the plot leads you there. They're all so ridiculous and fun.
I am pretty neutral about most of the information from the new extras; the one thing I don't like is the idea that the world isn't entirely Airplane's sloppy and demented creation. (I do like Mobei-jun coming through the computer screen and Airplane having to talk him down, though.)

One of the things I really like about Nagi/Mamoru as a pairing is that they have that potential to go light or very dark: Mamoru's trapped himself in a prison of his own making but there are some ways out, especially with Nagi involved. They could disappear somewhere! They could have a happy life killing people for money! They could have a sad and angsty life killing people for money! They could gain staggering political power through legal and extralegal means! Truly, a pairing that can do it all.
Yohji/Omi, meanwhile, is more on the screwed-up side just by definition. They worked together the longest, and Yohji makes terrible decisions and Omi is young and horny and also makes terrible decisions. They have Seen Some Shit together and both of them have (like Nagi and Mamoru) lost the people they wanted to protect the most.
Canon-compliant, post-canon, AU or canon divergence all welcome. Go crazy, canon certainly did!
