I really enjoy Kris’s hyper-pragmatic, calculated efficiency, her control-freak tendencies and the possessiveness with which she effortlessly dominates her crew. And I love Azi: “brilliant butch lesbian mechanic” is already catnip for me, but also I love the way she connects to others even as she keeps her own heart guarded, and her stubborn determination, and how her relationship to Vesta transforms over the course of the show. - It’s implied that Tom met Shiv at a dark time in her life and helped her through it; what was that like?
- What else was going on with them behind closed doors during S4?
- And what happens after the series finale: now that Matsson’s golden handcuffs have essentially stuck them together, how do they reconcile all the awful things they’ve done to each other? How do they approach parenthood — do they try to break the cycle of abuse, and if so, do they succeed?

I binged the new season of Squid Game a few days ago and I was definitely not expecting In-ho to be my favorite part of the whole thing, but here we are. I just think he's neat! I love the charming facade he keeps up as Young-il (to mess with Gi-hun's head and prove some Longwinded Point on the Nature of Humanity) and the weird sort of chemistry that creates between him and Gi-hun, and the angry, raw moments where that facade cracks, and how we never quite figure out what the hell he's up to. And I really enjoy the dynamic between him and Jun-ho - Jun-ho's obsessive devotion towards finding him in S1 (and unwillingness to give his identity up to Gi-hun in S2), In-ho being visibly affected by Jun-ho when nothing else seems to faze him & keeping Jun-ho alive from the shadows even at a cost to himself...
- I'd love to read about how he won his Games, his life afterwards (why did he keep living such a modest life? how did the Games change him, and his relationship with Jun-ho? did the trauma of it stay with him?), and about his path to becoming Front Man under Oh Il-nam's mentorship.
- What happens after the curtain closes on the Season 2 finale? (I find the idea of In-ho using Gi-hun as his pawn somehow for some sinister ulterior purpose very compelling. Seems like a dude with ambitions. Does he want to gain power outside the South Korea branch? Is he secretly playing some crazy long game to assassinate the VIPs and/or take down the Games? Is he going to try and mindbreak Gi-hun into becoming the next Front Man?)
- Maybe an AU where Jun-ho and co. successfully manage to break into the Games and get Gi-hun/In-ho/the rest of their team out, except Gi-hun still thinks In-ho is Young-il, In-ho is still playing along, and Jun-ho is like "what the actual fuck..."

Marion is one of my favorite characters ever — I love "blunt, hypercompetent, traumatized, constantly calculating, ungodly-amounts-of-caffeine-and-tobacco-consuming science hero suffers more than Jesus" types in general, and making her a middle-aged woman is a surefire way to have me banging down your door. I love her thought process as she’s triaging a situation or working through a difficult decision, and how she’s stoic and caustic and kind of weird and also a brilliant, respected leader who cares deeply about her people, and I’m kind of insane about her marriage? (What if you were the only person I’d ever met who thought in the same way I did, & we built a weird little life for ourselves as the world fell apart around us, & then we had to throw it all away in a desperate, doomed effort to keep each other safe. What if we were ride-or-die to a feral degree even after we no longer remembered each other. What if I went crazy.) Write her doing anything and I’ll be delighted.
- What is her day-to-day when there’s no imminent crisis? How did she first get involved with the Division, and from there to where she is today? What was the Division like back when it was the leader of a worldwide Antimemetics Coalition? How does asynchronous research work? What is it like to grieve for something you don't remember?
- I’d love some whump, sickfic, caretaking, hurt/comfort, etc. that explores the physical/emotional ramifications of all the trauma she goes through - and her general tendency to work herself into the ground - further than canon does. God could she use a hug and/or a vacation and/or a 15 hour nap.
- What was 2015 actually like for her and Adam? Marion’s endless loop of destroying herself for the cause and then forgetting it ever happened, even as the scars remain; Adam remembering it all (except, potentially, what she doesn’t want him to? What if that wasn’t the first time she mindwiped him?) and trying desperately to hold her & their marriage together through the fallout as he starts connecting the dots of what’s really going on… I want more of that. (I want more of them in literally any context, tbh.)

- It's not a "breeding kink" if they're married or planning to be in canon-period stories: it is what generations of the 95%+ of Colombians who were Catholics before ca. 1970 were taught was the primary purpose of marriage (average children per woman over her lifetime there between 1950-1960: about 6)
- "Eating the cake before the wedding" and the fallout
- Agustín liking Bruno as a brother-in-law but absolutely not delighted about having him as a son-in-law (bonus: he gets over it)
- Playing with canon (and extra-canonical information, like Twitter interviews) ages - when I first saw the movie, I honestly thought that Mirabel was about 17-18 ("... and that's why coffee's for grown-ups!") and the Triplets were in their early 40s.
DNWs (Do Not Wants):
- Abuela-bashing (she's not evil - she was too focused on keeping their little island of peace and plenty safe and together in the middle of a country where "during the Civil War" might get the response, "which one?" to fully consider what effect she was having on her own family)
- Dom Bruno (unless it's something Mirabel set up for him in roleplay)
- Complete ignorance of the fact that they live in a small, isolated village in the middle of what was possibly the most Catholic country in the world at the time save the Vatican itself (unless you're doing modern AU)
- Complete ignorance of the fact that while their family and neighbors might be anywhere from a bit skeptical to absolutely disgusted, it was (and as far as I know still is) legal for them to get married in Colombia (before the mid-1970s, they most likely would have had to get the Catholic Church to agree to it, making Padre Flores' and the local bishop's opinions rather important - see "matrimonial dispensation")
- Either of them being sexually or romantically involved with other Madrigals, aside from *perhaps* some previous flirting between Mirabel and Camilo (and maybe some continued longing on his side) or past schoolboy experimentation (think "British boarding school", minus the coercive aspects) between Bruno and Agustín before the latter got involved with Julieta (so before he was a Madrigal)

- Hermione as either vaguely "C&E CoE" (Christmas and Easter Church of England; that is, very casually Anglican, may or may not actually believe) or with Jewish background
- Very working-class, Northern Severus (at least in the Muggle world) trying to get on with Hermione's very upper-middle-class "Home Counties" (London metro area) parents, who of course are likely closer in age to him than he is to Hermione, unless they were nearly 40 when she was born
- Severus was too busy trying to avoid excessive Marauder attention in school, weird Death Eater attention immediately after, then trying to balance the demands of two masters until after The War to have anything resembling a romantic relationship, even brief affair. Hermione helps him "catch up".
- Failed attempts at matchmaking the other with someone else
DNWs:
- Dom Severus. If anything, he's delighted to have someone else take charge of his life - he did a fantastic job screwing it up before
- "Lord Snape". He grew up wearing ill-fitting clothes and had a very, very working-class father who was anywhere from old-fashioned about discipline and had a stereotypical traumatized WWII vet drinking problem to being outright physically abusive (I personally lean towards the former.)
- Excessively goody-two-shoes Hermione. Yes, she wanted to free all of the House Elves (whether they wanted it or not), but by the end of fifth year, was Harry's chief organizer for an illegal resistance movement and doled out some *nasty* punishments (Marieta Edgecomb's unhealable acne, Umbridge's encounter with the Centaurs)
- Any remotely romantic/sexual involvement with Severus before she's 17 (age of adulthood in the Wizarding World)
- Excessive Ron-bashing - he's not a bad person, just more than a little too immature for Hermione. They tried dating, didn't work, don't hate each other. She's sincerely happy for him and whoever of whatever gender(s) he found.

Bertram/Parolles (All's Well Globe 2024)

This production actually made this truly tricky play work, and they did it by making two adjustments. One, they make Bertram/Parolles canon - in addition to the play's subtext and text, like Parolles calling Bertram 'sweetheart' twice, there's now also kissing! and dick jokes! and sexual bravado among soldiers! and mutual betrayal! and hurt feelings! and Parolles takes Bertram's hand in the end after Bertram very reluctantly accepts the reality of his marriage to Helena (just Helen in this production). And two, they make Parolles in many ways the heart of the story: he is still a braggart and a coward, but the staging and the actor give him so much depth and heart: there's his affair with Bertram predating Bertram's reluctant marriage, and then Parolles's hurt at said marriage and at being made to court Diana on Bertram's behalf, and at Bertram prioritizing being a bro among soldiers, and the Judas kiss in the final scene, and then Parolles being the one to speak the 'our revels now are ended'-style final lines. Plus the staging makes clear Bertram isn't just a snob about Helen, he's being forced into marriage against his will, but then it also leaves open whether Bertram pursues Diana because he's flighty and okay with breaking Parolles's heart, or because he thinks this is what's expected of him as a young nobleman away from home and at war. Plus, you know, Kit Young as Bertram and William Robinson as Parolles are very attractive together. ;-)

Some prompts:
-their pre-canon relationship: how did it start? Who made the first move? It's implied Parolles may be no stranger to sex with superiors which isn't really his choice - the joy of mutual desire and discovery.
-their post-canon relationship: Parolles works for the awful Lafew now (essentially as a spy, at that!), and Bertram is still married, about to be a father (both against his will), and their social relationship is still one of deep inequality. They've hurt each other, but Parolles indicates a willingness to reconcile, and Bertram doesn't push him away in the play's final moments. Can they find a way back to each other, around all the obstacles in their way?
-while fighting in Italy, Bertram is effectively running away from his marriage, with Parolles along for the ride. It's a kind of honeymoon for them, even as they have to keep up appearances before the other soldiers. Give me all the furtive sex and stolen moments in roadside taverns and soldiers' camps, all the euphoria over what they know is a brief (and dangerous, for both war- and homophobia-related reasons) interlude in their lives.
-I don't think Helen and Parolles will ever be buddy-buddy or like each other, but maybe they can find a way to coexist, either by recognizing they both adore Bertram and he may not deserve it, or in some (consensual or not) infidelity scenario.
-It's Shakespeare: give me all the blank verse, elaborate metaphors, and knob jokes you want. (Not a must, but I'll love it if you decide to go there.)
-I am here for everything from furtive glances and hands touching, to kissing, to full-on smut.

-Igor's backstory gets filled in. Is he Jewish? Does he live with his grandma or just in her apartment? Did the Zakharovs help him come over to America and that's why he works for them? He insists he's not a gopnik just as Ani insists she's not a hooker - how do they see themselves?
-an actual relationship, as full of Ani's attitude and the perils of both their work as it may be. Just don't let anyone force Ani to admit she may be happy, even if the guy is a broke-ass motherfucker. I'd also love a stages of a developing relationship fic, with or without working themselves up to fuck again.
-once they're actually screwing (again or on the regular), it annoys the shit out of Ani how well Igor can read her. She's used to controlling what happens, and not coming herself makes it easier to keep an emotional distance - how dare this asshole take her apart quietly and be all intimate about it, who does he think he is?!?
-with likely extreme ill grace, Anora agrees to marry Igor so he'll get a green card; they may or may not be in a relationship/situationship at this point. They rehearse the story of how they met for the green card interview. There would be a record of Ani's marriage to Ivan, so maybe a version of the truth would be better than something made up, if only they can settle on a mutually acceptable version.

Canon-specific DNW: college-dropout/college-girl Ani. She can absolutely want something more or just something different, but this fanon doesn't work for me.
