I’ve only read Ender’s Game & Ender’s Shadow for this series; I’m fine with spoilers, as long as my ignorance of the other books won’t hinder enjoyment too much (I have read synopsis for most of them, so I do have some minor idea of what will happen, and that Ender and Bean won’t have a canon reunion, so I’m kinda expecting either canon divergence or Battleschool era with these characters, anyway).

Those books are really something when you read it as an adult—tragic, full of dark themes including child abuse, child soldiers, children commiting murder and genocide, child psychopaths… and so much more. But they also have so many philosophical debates. I'm just obsessed with the character writing from this book. I can really feel for Ender and Bean (even though I did think book ages were unrealistic) and the things they’re going through, and I just want all the boys to succeed.

Ender is the one fandom I think more in romantic rather than sexual terms, but if you want to go sexual anyway, just in case, my position preferences are: top Ender/bottom Bean; top Nicholai/bottom Bean; top Bonzo; top Achilles; top Peter

I don't pay much mind to the characters' ages in these books because I have to suspend disbelief with them anyway, so do with that whatever you will, keep their canon ages or age them up if you don't like that, pretend they are already teenagers when they are in school, or just pretend you don't know their ages to begin with.

I'd really really love for this to be either romantic, sexual, or something similar, no matter which character group you're picking. But if that's really not your thing, that's fine, I just really want to see these characters! I have a slight preference for plot focus rather than platonic relationship focus if romance/smut is off the table.

I'll admit, I haven't played the game hands-on, only watched numerous playthrough videos of it. I think I've seen all the routes, however, so I should understand whichever detail you want to focus on. What I like about the relationships from this game is that... they're all kinda fucked up? Kurt's manipulation of everyone around him; Dimitri being a doctor who wants to do good but is inexcusable in enabling Kurt's evil deeds (possibly blinded by love?); the Protagonist being the player character connecting the most with us but ends up revealing as an enforcer of a tyrannical regime... Messy feelings and fucked up power dynamics all around!!! Kurt keeping Dimitri by his side using sweet talk but holds unspoken power over him; Kurt being all around creepy and fucked up with Protagonist when she lost her memories (I think the whole non-consensual mind/body modification alone is a HUGE assault on someone's person); Dimitri trauma bonding with the Protagonist over Kurt's manipulations... Or put them together, have Dimitri bonding with Protagonist only for Kurt to discover them and punish them both, or let Kurt be at their mercy. Going darker: Kurt forcing them into doing things they aren't comfortable with as punishment, or something with an unbalanced V-type relationship where Kurt clearly prefers one of them but keeps the other around anyway just to be cruel.

Other random ideas:

- anything similar to the Dimitri ending (possibly without the deaths?) where they successfully run away together (whether in a romantic way or not)

- I kept having thoughts about Kurt sexually assaulting the protagonist what with undressing in front of her and sleeping in her bed... but I'd also love to see more of the Anime-esque "bastard boyfriend" trope where he essentially tortures her (traps her in a toxic relationship) even though he's written as the pretty boy male love interest stereotype

- Kurt and Dimitri's backstory, how they got together, etc. I see their relationship being a bit more consensual than the above, but I will never say no to noncon either, especially with how fucked up Kurt is.

- Kurt arrested by Protagonist ending: the potential ramifications of that. Also I get really excited thinking about a Protagonist with her memories back giving Kurt a taste of his own medicine. Her torturing Kurt (whether in a kinky way or not) for information or for what he'd done would be great, as does a wider look at the people she works for and the attempt at recreating Kurt's brand of immortality

- something gen (or not so gen) horror involving Kurt's fate or Dimitri crawling inside the mansion walls would be GREAT

For Protagonist (if you're including her), I'm fine with any OC name you want to give her as long as it's reasonably believable for a female character with an Eastern European-esque background. I'm also fine with either second or third-person narration with her as long as it's not literally readerfic (no stuff like y/n or deliberating involving the reader, just treat her as her own character please.)

What I like about the ship

I have a special thing for the “protective older brother/innocent younger brother” dynamic, and this is one of those ships I crave because it’s rare/deemed as problematic even when the fandom was active.

I thought the Jack/Jamie dynamic was so sweet and protective, especially when Jack thinks back to his life and makes parallels between his sister and Jamie. Any kind of innocent love growing for Jamie and Jack being the “cool older kid Jamie can’t help but fall for” would be great. Since I have an incest kink, something something about Jamie being Jack’s descendant and having the fic kink on that would be fantastic (but fine if that weirds you out!).

For prompts involving sex, dubcon, or mutual non-con, I prefer Jack topping Jamie.

I prefer Jamie not to be aged up too much (if you want to age him up at all - I’m fine with his canon age!). Tween or teen Jamie is the sweet spot for me. I also have a thing for Jack going dark because of Pitch’s influence, whether Pitch’s powers got into him accidentally/intentionally or Jack did it to sacrifice his own goodness to protect Jamie and the other kids. If you’re willing to go dark, a dark!Jack keeping Jamie prisoner in a snow palace would be a wonderful setting.

- Pitch is back and kidnaps/tries to kidnap Jamie to get to Jack. Jack protects Jamie from it.

- Jack is captured along with Jamie and protects him through their captivity and eventual escape together

- to break Jack’s spirit, Pitch forces him into nonconning Jamie to save Jamie from worse fate (dying, becoming a ghost, trapped forever in an eternal nightmare, being nonconned by Pitch himself. Or maybe Jamie is under Pitch’s sleeping spell and the only way to save him is “true-love’s noncon”.)

- Instead of corrupting Jack, Pitch corrupts Jamie and turns him into a little brainwashed minion, and Jack has to bring him back to his senses

- Just can’t stop thinking about that scene where a whole bunch of Guardians are just standing around and talking… in Jamie’s room when he’s asleep. It’s cute that they protect kids but that’s just creepy, and I’d love for something along that cute/creepy line of Jack sitting in Jamie’s room and watching him sleep when Jamie is sick or injured and not understanding how that’s a creepy thing to do because he hasn’t been a human for so long

- similar to that, maybe Jack hears/learns about danger that might come to Jamie after Pitch’s return and stalks him to protect him, even though that’s creepy

The brothers obviously still care about each other, but fate has torn them apart. Noatak used to be such a happy child and brother to young Tarrlok, but then as he becomes a teen, he is slowly corrupted by his father, becoming his protoge, and Tarrlok feels he's drifting away from him. He would hurt Tarrlok on their father's command, but he also cooly steps in front of Tarrlok when their father tries to punish him.

I'd love to see Noatak's softness to his brother underneath that cold mask he puts on. You can set this during their childhood/teenage days, where they share a bed together, have brotherly moments that are just a little too intimate to be completely normal with your sibling, have Noatak protective about Tarrlok, etc. Or set this in current time, where Amon knocks Tarrlok out and imprisons him close to his quarters. Where's that missing scene when Tarrlok wakes up when Amon unmasks himself? What are some dark NSFW things that might have happened in Tarrlok's prison? Has Noatak harbored an obsession with Tarrlok, and now he finally has him?

Elena & Rufus Shinra, Elena/Rufus Shinra: Rebirth gave me crumbs and I want more! Boy does he tolerate some disrespect from her. Did they interact during Elena's training period? It'd be fun to see her do well at something and be recognised by Rufus for it.

Darkstar & Rufus Shinra: A boy and his dog, except the "boy" is a lonely billionaire thirty year-old and the "dog" is a product of Shinra R&D. I love things that lean into D as Rufus' pet, and also things about its monstrousness/wrongness (and Rufus liking it).

Rufus Shinra/Cloud Strife: The ship that got me into Remake! I like them all along the spectrum from "angry Remake power tripping" to "functional relationship." They're sparky in the best way.
